Raimond Burgman is one of the semi finalists in Zwaag.

ZWAAG - The four most successful players of the Netherlands are playing the semifinals of the Grand Prix in Zwaag. Dick Jaspers plays against Jean Paul de Bruijn, Jean van Erp against Raimond Burgman.

The quarter finals were all exciting matches with some very late decisions. Raimond Burgman, for instance, was fighting a long time against a  disadvantage in his match against Therese Klompenhouwer. The European ladies champion even led 44-40 in the closing innings, but at the end Burgman broke away and reached the finish with 50-48 in 41 innings.

Jean van Erp and Glenn Hoffman went up to the finish with winning chances for both of them. Hofman looked at a backlog of 26-12 early in the match, but had a strong comeback to 40-40 and 45-45. Jean van Erp had the best endrush and finished with five.

Dick Jaspers was leading almost the whole match against Ad Koorevaar and grabbed victory: 50-40 in 41. Jean Paul de Bruijn was not really in danger against Dave Christiani. Moreover he had the best finish with a run of six: 50-40 in 33.

The semifinals (12.00) are:
Jaspers-De Bruijn
