Sruong Pheavy double winner in Asia

YANGGU - Cambodian lady player Sruong Pheavy (29), one of the current figureheads in Asian women's three cushion, has won the Korea Olympic Committee tournament  final by a landslide against 18-year Hyun-Ji Yong: 25-11 in 19.  Min-Ah Kim and Shin Young Lee were the numbers three and four on stage at this national event. Sruong Pheavy also shone earlier this month with the Asian title, in which she beat the same Hyun-Ji Yong in the final.

The Cambodian star player, which known for her work for charities and very active with video clips on social media, climbed to the number 2 position on the world ranking, following world champion Therese Klompenhouwer from the Netherlands.

The final in the Youth Gymnasium of Yanggu gangwon-du was quickly robbed of tension by Pheavy's big lead: 13-2 in 10 innings, 17-3 in 12 and finally 25-11 in 19 innings, averaging 1,316/0,578. Sruong Pheavy won the semi-final against Shin Young Lee 25-9 in 26 innings, Hyun-Li Yong defeated Min Ah Kim 25-21 in 38 innings.

At the Asian championship, Sruong Pheavy was the winner with 0.883 on average ahead of Hyun-Ji Yong (0,863), third were Ayaka Sakai and Jin-Lim Kyung.
