Tayfun Tasdemir outplayed rhe world champion Sung-Won Choi in only 9 innings

GURI - Tayfun Tasdemir was the best winner, followed by a great Dick Jaspers. Torbjörn Blomdahl was outplayed by the young Colombian Jose Juan Garcia and the last four Koreans are out of the tournament. The battle for the overall win in Guri continues without players from the home land.
The Turk Tayfun Tasdemir repeated what Jae Ho Cho did the day before against Sayginer: he won his match against the world champion Sung-Won Cho in only nine innings (4.444) with a run of 17 in the sixth.

Dick Jaspers showed an excellent form as well when he defeated Anh Vu Duong 40-14 in eleven innings. Jae Ho Cho now met a strong Eddy Merckx on his way (40-33 in 19) and the third Korean, Hyung Kon Kim, went down against Frédéric Caudron 40-24 in 20. Dani Sánchez was superior in his match against Dong Koong Kang 50-16 in 15 innings.

With Caudron and Merckx, the third Belgian Roland Forthomme shows up in the last eight. He won his match against Quyet Chien Tran: the two players were in balance until 19 innings, then they both scored eleven and brought the score to 33-31. Forthomme continued with six in the next inning and took the match 40-37 in 23.

Quoc Nguyen Nguyen is the last Asian amidst six Europeans and one Colombian. The Vietnamese defeated Marco Zanetti: 40-29 in 21.

The following matches:
