ISTANBUL - The Turkish star player Tayfun Tasdemir, the German Martin Horn, the Italian Marco Zanetti and the Spaniard Dani Sánchez are the first players that have qualified for the main tournament after three matches in their group stages.
Tayfun Tasdemir, was by far the best in two days of qualifications. His victory against Dani Sánchez (30-11 in 6 innings) was an absolute highlight. He closed his groups matches against Jean van Erp 30-10 in 10 innings and finished 3.333 average over three matches.
Dani Sánchez is second in this group thanks to a tough victory over Christakis Christoforou, which took twenty innings (30-17). Sánchez' final average in this group is 1.613.
Martin Horn made a superb start as well in this championship. The German noted three victories, including the main against Marco Zanetti. Horn defeated Slobodan Soro this afternoon (30-9 in 15) and finished 2.307 overall. Zanetti was second in the group. He defeated in his final group match Andreas Kronlachner 30-21 in 16.
