Therese Klompenhouwer defeated the men's national champion JP de Bruijn

SLUISKIL - Therese Klompenhouwer felt slightly piqued, when after she had beaten Raymond Ceulemans, a few critical pundits responded: ,,It's not that special, he's a great man but going downhill.'' Therese, a bit annoyed, reacted: ,,Raymond downhill, how do they dare? He still wins all his matches in Belgium, he still plays over 2 average in Holland from time to time.''

Today, in the Sluiskil derby between Dallinga-Frans Bevers and Garage Verbrugge Hyundai, the Dutch Ladies champion showed she was no one hit wonder: Therese, nicknamed Terri the Terminator, beat Jean Paul de Bruijn, the current Dutch men's champion, 50-45 in 40 innings.

The match, already jocularly billed as Elvis Presley (new haircut for TK!) takes on Sugar Lee Hooper, had a bizarre scoring ebb and flow. Therese had a dreadful start with eight points in 16 innings, but Jean Paul saw the wheels come off and recorded nine consecutive misses. The national men's champion then did lead 17-8 and 24-14, but again lost all steam. Therese took full advantage and finished superbly with 7-2-5 and 3: 50-45 in 40 innings.

In this 13th round, Dallinga-Frans Bevers remained unbeaten, in spite of de Bruijn's second loss to this opposing team, thanks to the 6-2 score. Peter De Backer beat Bart Ceulemans (50-35 in 39), Jerry Hermans, the table leader's sub, won 45-35 in 50 innings against Patrick Vasseur. Glenn Hofman had a very narrow escape against Berry Dallinga. The man from The Hague missed his match ball a few times, saw the hotel manager from Sluiskil come back to 44-44, but Dallinga was twice unable to finish with a bank shot, and he watched Hofman make the winning point.

Partycentrum Osdorp had an unexpected walk in the park against De Distel, which was outcleassed on all four tables, to return home beaten 8-0. Dick Jaspers took the lead for the home team, winning 50-29 in 25 against Jef Philipoom. Capelle-De Terp overtook De Distel for 4th place, thanks to a 6-2 victory over 's Landswelvaren. Bitalis, Koorevaar and Sciacca won for Capelle. Francis Forton beat Martin Spooremans 50-47 in 38 innings.

Team STZ lost a point against Van Wanrooy Transport, but it did have the player of the day in Barry van Beers. The man from Brabant ran an 18 in his match against Jan Arnouts, to win in style: 45 - 17 in 20.

Holland Mineraal took their revenge on A1 Biljarts, who had beaten them 5-3 in the first competition half, this time Ronny Hazewinkel's team was victorious: 6-2. The only loss was for Jelle Pijl. The man from Hengelo was leading 27-13 in 9 innings, having scored a 13 in the 2nd inning and a 7 in the 9th, but in the second half of the match he could not score to save his life, so he lost 45-42 in 31 innings to Henk Blauwblomme.

Murat Naci Coklu won 50-43 (in 22) to Raimond Burgman and Anno de Kleine beat Martien van der Spoel in 37 innings: 50-35.
