ISTANBUL - Frédéric Caudron, Dick Jaspers, Raimond Burgman and Frédéric Mottet were the last four players to show up in the Europeans main tournament in Istanbul. Sixteen players will perform tomorrow in the schedule.
Frédéric Caudron defeated Sameh Sidhom after a weak start in the last prelim session: the Belgian looked at a 15-3 deficit in eight innings, but came with two runs to a 22-15 lead after ten innings. Caudron won 30-18 in 18.
Dick Jaspers had a whirlwind start against Sciacca: 3 in his first inning, sixteen in the second, bringing him to 19-2 in two innings. The Dutchman won the match 30-3 in 7 innings.
Raimond Burgman remained unbeaten in this group with the smallest margin in his match against Christian Rudolph (30-29), Frédéric Mottet defeated Paolo Andrade 30-23 and is the second Belgian in the finals.
Tayfun Tasdemir finished the preliminaries with the best average (3.333), Nikos Polychronopoulos with the highest run (23).
