Torbjörn Blomdahl captures his 30th Swedish title

Torbjörn Blomdahl and Michael Nilsson, the champion and the runner-up

STOCKHOLM - The final was between the two best Swedish billiard players and Torbjörn Blomdahl took his 30th Swedish title in three-cushion. The multiple champion defeated Michael Nilsson, his biggest rival with whom he won this year's European national team title, 40-32 in 20 innings. Torbjörn and Michael both played over 2 average in the final part: 2,222 and 2,154.

Michael Nilsson was outstanding in the quarterfinals against Bosse Gustafsson. ''I started badly, but then I made 10, went to the break with 20 points and came back with 19. I missed the last point, which was the most easy of them all.'' Nilsson won 40-14 in 15 innings. Blomdahl also had a walk-over in the quarter finals against Lenart Trpevski: 40-11 in 20.

David Pennör won against Nalle Olsson (40-36 in 31) and Mattias Enerdal beat Björn Lohmander 40-28 in 35 to qualify for the semi-finals. Blomdahl earned his spot in the final by beating David Pennör 40-21 in 14, Nilsson beat Enerdal 40-12 in 17.
