Torbjörn Blomdahl defeated Michael Nilsson in the final and took his 26th title in Sweden

HELSINGBORG - In a man-to-man final, Torbjörn Blomdahl has conquered the Swedish title in three cushion again. The world champion and world's number one defeated his main rival, Michael Nilsson, in the final 40-36 in 21 innings. Both players were unbeaten until the final. The tournament was held at BK Borgen in Helsingborg and played with twelve players, who met in a round robin. Blomdahl won all his matches (ten) until the final, Nilsson played a draw in his last against David Pennör 40-40 in 30 innings.

Blomdahl about the final: ,,I was trailing after the start, made a run of ten and later a nine to come to a 37-29 score. Nilsson then replied with nine, before I went out with three and he made four from the break.''

Blomdahl, who finished 1.938 average, it was his 26th Swedish title in three cushion. The best match of the tournament was played by the champion himself with 40 in 11 innings. Freddy Cato, who finished fifth in the championship, beat Peter Lohmander and played the second best, 40 in 12, the best match of his life.
