Sergio Jimenez played the best match in the quarter finals: he defeated Jesús Jimenez in 28 innings.

PAIPORTA - Daniel Sánchez was thrown out in the eighth finals, Raul Hernandez, the finalist last year, already wasted his chances in the preliminaries, but this evening the favorites to win the Spanish title had a collective offday in Paiporta.

Rubèn Legazpi, conqueror of Dani Sánchez, was knocked-out by Antonio Ortiz, Carlos Crespo lost to Jaime Faraco and even more unexpected was the loss of Javier Palazón in its match against Jose Maria Màs

The tournament will continue tomorrow with two totally surprising semi-finals. Javier Palazón was even completely ruled out. The vice world champion collected only 32 caroms in 34 innings against the 29-year-old Catalan Màs.

Antonio Ortiz, playing for his own crowd, had a better endrush than Rubèn Legazpi (50-43 in 29), Jaime Faraco was amazing good against Carlos Crespo (50-43 in 38) and Sergio Jimenez was the best winner of the night by beating Jesús Jiménez 50-32 in 28 innings.
