Jae Ho Cho and Marco Zanetti made it to the semi finals after wins against Cenet and Tasdemir.

SCHILTIGHEIM - Two Turkish star players came to the Agipi Masters to play a main role in the final round. Lutfi Cenet and Tayfun Tasdemir remained unbeaten in the preliminary rounds with high averages. For both them, however, the trofhy is already out of sight after one day of playing.

Marco Zanetti (50-28 in 26 innings against Tasdemir) will show up in the semifinals on Saturday against the winner of Jaspers-Sáncez. Jae Ho Cho defeated Cenet 50-44 in 35 innings and will meet the winner of Caudron-Horn in the semis.

But first of all two other quarterfinals will be played on Friday: Jaspers-Sánchez (18.00) and Caudron-Horn (21.00).

The final round, with the eight finalists, was not an exhibition of high-class: only Zanetti performed on a high level, like he showed last week when he defeated his opponents Torbjörn Blomdahl and Dick Jaspers in the Lausanne Billard Masters.

The Italian demolished Tasdemir with small attacks, some runs of five and six and built the gap after 13-13 out to an easy victory.

,,I had expected more resistance, but I saw right after the halfway point that my opponent had lost his confidence’’, analyzed Zanetti. ,,That’s why I lost some concentration near the end.’’

He emphasized: ,,The form is good, I have a good focus, I play with confidence, but of course that's no guarantee for success here. With all these world class players nothing is predictable in advance.''

The Korean Jae Ho Cho started the tournament with a little cold, but was nonetheless fit enough to beat Cenet in the quarter finals. The match came to its deciding phase after the break (25-23), when Cho ran out to 37-29 with runs of 4, 4 and 2.

He then finished without any problem, relegating his Turkish opponent to the losers round.
