The third UMB Virtual Challenge, from Monday 14 to Friday 18 September, will be launched as a meeting between six man players from world's top 20 and two leading ladies. Therese Klompenhouwer, the Dutch world and European champion, and Surong Pheavy, the Cambodian player who is Asian champion and number two in the women's ranking, are invited to the virtual showdown with Nick Polychronopoulos, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Roland Forthomme, Dinh Nai Ngo, Dion Nelin and Jun Tae Kim.

Therese Klompenhouwer travelled to Milan this week to visit her sponsor Longoni. For the Challenge, she choosed to perform from a friend's location. Sruong Pheavy plays in her own club in Cheongju, 100 kilometres south of Korean capital Seoul.

Following Eddy Merckx' and Lütfi Cenet's victories (averages 3.846), the UMB Challenge is now facing its third edition. The playing format is known: the players first meet each other in groups of four, then in the final rounds with four players. Each player shows up in is home location, the match format is that the two players in a match take one by one the shot from the break until they miss. The match length is 50 caroms.

The group formats for this third Challenge:

Group A: Roland Forthomme (BE), Nikos Polycronopoulos (GR), Dinh Nai Ngo (VN), Sruong Pheavy (KH)

Group B: Nguyen Quoc Nguyen (VN), Dion Nelin (DK), Jun Tae Kim (KR), Therese Klompenhouwer (NL)

The starting fee is 1,000 euros per player. The winner receives 1,000 euros, the runner-up 500 euros and 500 euros for the highest run.

Semi-finals at 12.00 and 17.00

Final at noon.
