Two Spaniards in semis with Dutchman and Turk

Juan David Zapata played a magnificent quarter final.

ALCAMO - The Dutchman Jens van Dam and the Turkish Olmer Karakurt will perform in the semifinals of the European championship for juniors today. They battle for a place in the final, in which the winner undoubtedly will meet the big favorite for the title. The main role in the tournament so far has been for the two Spaniards, of whom Juan David Zapata Garcia played 2.000 average yesterday night in the quarters.

David Martinez, the first seeded player, started with a strong match 25 in 15 innings, his fellow countryman Juan David Zapata did the same. However they both lost their second game in the group, they forced the qualification with two victories.
 
The Frenchman Matthieu Franck, German Dustin Jäschke, the Turk Olmer Karakurt and Portuguese Joao Ferreira were the group winners.
 
Matthieu Franck was defeated by Jens van Dam last night in the quarterfinals (30-19 in 32). The Dutchman makes a a very solid impression in the tournament and always fluctuates around one average.
 
Olmer Karakurt beat Abdin Mohamed 30-26 in 31, one Spaniard, David Martinez, was responsable for the elimination of Dustin Jäschke (30-23 in 34), which he himself saw as one of the favorites on beforehand.

But the star player in the quarters was Juan David Zapata Garcia. The physical sciences student from San Javier (Murcia), member of the Club Billar Casino Cartagena, dashed off his match against Joao Ferreira in fifteen innings (30-16), with two average and a highest run of eleven.
 
The two Spaniards meet each others in the semifinals, the winner will play the final against the winner of the match between Jens van Dam and Olmer Karakurt.
