The world top of three cushion is travelling to the Greek World Cup

PELOPONNESOS – September gives us a rapid succession of World Cup tournaments. The Greek tournament in the Far West ranch in Peloponnesos is on the calendar for this week, two weeks after the Korean event. The top players of the circuit make a new bid for the highest positions in the wonderful environment of the ranch park.

The Greek shipowner Athanasiou, under the name of IBTHellas, has given billiards in his country a new impetus with the organization of some major tournaments in the upcoming three years. The scenario for the upcoming World Cup is a novelty: the Wild West.

The 148 players are ready for takeoff to the Sofiko Ranch in Corinth, where the World Cup is held from Monday 16 to Sunday, September 22.

The world’s top twelve is the same as in the Korean World Cup: Torbjörn Blomdahl, Frédéric Caudron, Jérémy Bury, Marco Zanetti, Eddy Merckx, Dani Sánchez, Dick Jaspers, Sung-Won Choi, Kyung-Roul Kim, Jae Ho Cho, Filippos Kasidokostas and Lütfi Cenet.

The ranking is made before the World Cup in Guri, where Cho and Kasidokostas dropped out of the top twelve and Dong Koong Kang and Murat Naci Coklu entered the top of the ranks.

The four wild cards for Greece have been distributed to Quyet Tran Chien (Vietnam) for the ACBC, Miguel Canton (Venezuela) for the CPB and the Greek players Kostas Papakonstantinou and Konstantinos Kokkoris on behalf of the organization.

For the world ranks, the points on the Suwon World Cup in 2011 will be withdrawn. That means for Blomdahl that he has 80 points to defend, Jae Ho Cho 54, Jérémy Bury and Ma Xuan Cuong 38 points.

The tournament schedule and playing times can be found on the UMB website.

The Kozoom team has already left for the Greek park to broadcast all matches from the start.
