The billiard audience in the world was spoiled online with two high class exhibition matches at various locations today (Saturday). Semih Sayginer and Dani Sánchez played a match both in their own home over 50 caroms, in which each they started from the break in each inning. That resulted in high averages and high scores. The match finished 50-50 in 14 innings (3,57 on average). The shootout determined Sayginer as the winner: 6-4. Dick Jaspers played live on kozoom against Therese Klompenhouwer in one of his training sessions in his own billiard room. He won 50-39 in 35 innings. That match will be repeated this Saturday evening (May 23) at 19.00. Therese Klompenhouwer was still leading during the break: 25-23, but was defeated by Jaspers in the second part.
Dani Sánchez and Semih Sayginer each met at their own home table in a match over 50 caroms, commented by Gökhan Salman (Turkish translations) and Jose Maria Mas (Spanish). The double broadcast showed the two match tables at their own location in Istanbul and Barcelona. The two world class players started each inning from the break, which resulted in an exceptionally high level.
Sayginer led the entire match after a starting inning of eight and later scored another another high run: twelve. Sánchez was chasing all the way very well. The Spaniard tied with four in the equalizer. Sayginer scored six times in the shootout, Sánchez missed after four.
The two players agreed on a revenge very soon after the match which was broadcast for free to thousands of spectators on facebook. The matches are a compensation for the global billiard audience, which has been devoid of matches for two months due to COViD 19. Dick Jaspers shares his training sessions with the Kozoom crowd in April and May. The number one in the world played a sparring match against Barry van Beers last week and today faced Therese Klompenhouwer. The cycle will be closed next Saturday (30th of May) by a match between Dick Jaspers and Eddy Merckx: live at 10.00, replay at 19.00.
