Youngsters divide first medals at German championship

Ali Ibraimov took the title in three cushion under 21

BAD WILDUNGEN - At the German junior billiards championships, a total of four titles in carom were shared out over the first weekend. Two of them went to brothers Ali and Amir Ibraimov of MBC Duisburg. Ali Ibraimov won the title in the junior three cushion under-21. He triumphed after 6 games and 5 victories and finished ahead of Lennart Menzel from BG Krefeld and Cederik Liskow from BC Hilden. Ibraimov played 0,680 on average and the best match in 25 innings (1,200). In that match he defeated Cederik Liskow and secured the title.

Lennart Menzel from Krefeld defeated the new German champion in the last round and won the silver medal. Menzel played the best average of the championship, 0,754, and shares the best run with Ali Imbraimov: 6. Already in the first match, Menzel showed that he is a talent in three cushion with 30 in 28 innings (1,071).

The other three decisions fell in the small table free game, where the under-15, under-17 and under-19 age groups played for the titles. Lennart Menzel, the silver medallist in the three-cushion, won the under 19 title. He won all four of his matches in superior style and played a 27,27 average. In his best match, he scored 150 points in one inning against Alexander Nowak. Lucas Egert from Pfaffenhofen came in second, ahead of Cederik Liskow from BC Hilden. Liskow and Menzel won their second medal at these championships.

In the under 17s, Felix Zimmermann was unbeatable in a field of four participants. He won the title after three victories ahead of Bennet Krille from SV Altenweddingen and Leon Henneberger from BSF Goch.

In the category of the youngest participants, Amir Ibraimov became the new German free game champion. After 5 rounds he and Christos Kisniarov of BSF Goch had 5 victories each, so that at the end it came down to a real final. In this final, Kisniarov was the first on course for the title, because after 20 innings he had reached the match distance of 75 points. Amir Ibraimov managed to score the missing 7 points to tie the score. Thanks to his better average he became the German champion of the under 15 Henry Zimmermann of Bfr. Gerthe came third.
