The Superprestige start on Monday, the opener is the Youth Day

LOMMEL - The Belgian battle in the Superprestige with the sixteen best players will be launched tomorrow (Monday). The opening is today (Sunday) with eight young players divided into two groups of four competing for a place in the finals on Saturday, September 6th.

Eddy Leppens and his team are putting the finishing touches today for the preparations in the arena. The organizer, just returned from a working holiday in Colombia (with lots of exhibitions) and who has married his girlfriend Andrea, had a busy week in Lommel's billiards center.

,,The arena is almost ready for a wonderful tournament, Leppens says on Sunday morning. ,,The youth event, which is held for the second time, is a nice starter. I hope we can welcome many fans for the young players.''

The Youth Day coincides with the Coupe van Beem, which is played in the Netherlands this weekend with eight young players for the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Leppens: ,,As a result, we miss some public and a few players, but unfortunately, the two events overlap.''

The eight players for the Youth Day are divided into a group of four juniors and a group of four players under 19 years. They play a separate competition. The two best players after today play the final next Saturday between the semi-finals and final of the 'Great Superprestige.'
