The straight pool final in the senior's division of the Dynamic Billiards European Championships 2012 will be played between Rene Peeters and Gijs van Helmond, both from The Netherlands.

They had no easy tasks in their respective semi-final matches. Van Helmond had to deal with Jan Lundell (SWE) who had played a strong tournament so far. The match was pretty levelled with Lundell having small advantages over van Helmond. The Swede was leading 21:7 before van Helmond was able to strike back and overtake Lundell. But Lundell countered his attack again and got very close to the finish-line, taking a 73:67 lead over van Helmond. With only two balls away from the final match, Lundell missed and van Helmond got to the table running the remaining balls he needed and secured his spot in the final match.

In the other semi-final, Rene Peeters played against Christophe Creter (GER). Just like in the other match, the Dutch player was trailing big time of the match. In fact, Creter took a 65:47 lead over Peeters before he missed. In that stage of the match, Creter played too aggressive. Peeters used that to overtake him and come to 67:65. Peeters ended his inning with a deliberate foul which Creter should have answered with an equal foul in order to put the risk back to Peeters. But Creter went for a tough shot in the side pocket and missed it. That opened the door for Peeters to run out the rack and win the match to take his seat in the final match.

The final will be played at 20:15 CET.
