All semifinalists of the 8-ball individuals

With a high quality performance, Jesse Thehu (NED) ousted defending 8-ball champion Reiner Wirsbitzki (GER) 7:2.

Wirsbitzki marked his claim straight away, running the first rack without any mistakes. But Thehu did not seem to be impressed at all. He broke the second rack and remained dry. Then Wirsbitzki missed the 4-ball. Thehu got to the table and ran out. The two players both played well but in completely different styles. Whereas Wirsbitzki was more the perfectionist who played rather slow, Thehu trusted his instincts and ran the balls at high speed. The match went along and both contestants scored another rack to tie the match at 2:2. Then Thehu's time had come. While he played solid and without any error, Wirsbitzki had a missed ball in each rack which Thehu punished straight away, snatching the points off Wirsbitzki. After eight racks, Thehu was on the hill, leading 6:2 over his opponent. Wirsbitzki broke the 9th rack. He decided to play a safety shot while he was at the table. The safeties were exchanged and Wirsbitzki had the chance to put another point into his account. But he pocketed his two last remaining balls at the same time. That gave him a long shot on the 8-ball which he missed. Thehu came to the table and won the rack and the match with 7:2. He will now play Peter Eriksson (SWE) in the final of the seniors division. Eriksson eliminated Stefano Bazzana (ITA) 7:1.

In the ladies division, Katja Kahl (GER) kicked out Ann-Sofie Löfgren (SWE) with a clear result of 5:1. She will meet Wienke Thamsen (GER) who defeated Monika Oeschger (SUI) with 5:1.

The final matches will be played at 21:00 CET.
