Kozoom Foos Interview with Amalie Bremer

She is the last year´s Women Singles winner of the World Series by Leonhart and World Champion in Women Singles in 2012. Amalie Bremer from Denmark is one of the best female players in the world and we had the chance to ask her 5 questions:

1. What does the ITSF World Series tournament on Leonhart mean to you? Why do you participate?

Normally I play on Bonzini in Denmark so the Leo WCS is a chance for me to play a lot on a different table, which is always fun. Also, German tournaments are usually really big because of the large female player base so I'll try to come to as many tournaments as possible down there.

2. Who will be the strongest opponent for you this year?

That is truly tough to say. Cindy Moser had a really great season this year and will probably also be a contender for this one. But beside that there are a lot of really talented girls who can do well. We are probably a group of 10-15 players from which everyone can beat each other - plus some sneaky outsiders.

3. Who will be your partner in the Women Doubles and why?

I will play women's doubles with my fellow Dane and good friend Nathalie Saltz. We played a Leo tournament together in Hamburg earlier this year, did well and had a lot of fun. Having fun while playing is very important to me at the moment, so that means a lot when I choose a partner. Nathalie is a perfect partner for me because she's a calm and analyzing goalie and we can also do the switch for her to go up if I am being bricked. Which will happen for sure.

4. Doubles or Singles. What is favorite event?

That changes a lot from time to time. Earlier it used to be singles, but recently I have enjoyed doubles a lot more. I guess I like the team spirit and that you can share the experience with someone. Also, I am a really bad goalie so I like to have someone down there to take care of that part of the game for me. For this Leo WCS I am definitely looking forward to doubles the most.

5. What is your personal goal of the tournament season 2016?

Since I won in singles last year it can only go downhill from there, so my personal goal this time is to play as much as possible, have fun and hang out with all my friends from the other countries. A podium placement in either singles or doubles would be great, but mostly I am hoping for me and Nathalie to do well in doubles.
