Kozoom Foos Interview with Jessica Bechtel

In the history of tablesoccer, she and her partner were the first to become German Champion in Women Doubles twice in a row. We came up with 5 questions to let you know what motivates Jessica Bechtel to join the World Series by Leonhart next week.

1. What does the ITSF World Series tournament on Leonhart mean to you? Why do you participate?

The World Series by Leonhart means a lot to me. It´s one of the biggest events of the season and most of the best women in the world will participate. Me and my partner Katja Dwenger had some of our greatest successes on the Leonhart World Series (2nd and 3rd  in Women Doubles) and as you can see: One medal is still missing ;)

2. Who will be the strongest opponent for you this year?

It depends on the discipline. In the last few years all of the ladies trained a lot and got better and better in singles which makes it quite hard for me to keep up with them. In Doubles I feel really confident playing with Katja but nevertheless there are strong opponents. For example Maura Porrmann! She played a great season and for me she improved the most. I also have great respect for Amalie Bremer. We had some close matches and she always came out as a winner, which must be changed ;) So there will be a lot of great opponents and matches and I´m really looking forward to it!

3. Who will be your partner in the Women Doubles and why?

I´m going to play with Katja Dwenger because we´re perfectly attuned to each other. She is a great forward and a good friend of mine which makes it easy for me to choose her as partner. We had some great successes together and hopefully some more will follow.

4. Doubles or Singles. What is your favorite event?

Definitely Doubles. I love playing in a team. It is such a great feeling to share your strategies, your emotions and if it works your successes.

5. What is your personal goal of the tournament season 2016?

I´m not trying to put myself under pressure with aiming high, I just attempt to give my best all the time. But obviously winning Women Doubles at the Leonhart WS this year would be my biggest dream. Furthermore I´m using this season as a preparation for the World Championship in Hamburg next year. So my personal goal is being satiesfied with my effort und feeling well prepared.
