Raimond Burgman had to cancel the Europeans in Ankara

ANKARA - Dutchman Raimond Burgman has cancelled his participation at the European championship for national teams, which is planned for 17-19 February in Ankara, Turkey. He has been replaced by Raymund Swertz. The registration for the European Championship closes five weeks before the start of the tournament: fifteen of 24 teams have already registered.

The Dutch team already had to play without Dick Jaspers, who is concentrating on the World Cup being played at the same venue. Raimond Burgman was now the team captain with Jeffrey Jorissen as second man, but today Burgman has cancelled. ''I am waiting for a surgery on polyps, which is still uncertain because of Corona'', Burgman explains. ''It's a pity that I cannot play, but the prospect of the operation is more important at the moment.''
